LUNA is entirely volunteer run and operates with a non hierarchical structure.
LUNA is made up of general members, professional advisors, and trustees.
- LUNA General Members make up the majority of LUNA and are the volunteers that keep LUNA going! General members come up with ideas for projects and, as part of a team, make them happen. You can meet them here (LINK).
- The six LUNA Trustees take responsibility for the overall running of the charity. They work to ensure that all the necessary administrative stuff happens, and that it is a fun and welcoming place for volunteers. You can meet them here (LINK).
- Professional advisors are folk with experience in lots of different sectors relevant to LUNA (youth workers, health researchers, inclusive education academics) who support LUNA’s day to day activities and longer term growth. We also have a brilliant community of individuals and organisations who get involved by collaborating with us, attending events, writing blogs, and supporting our work. You can meet them here (LINK).
We have two working groups: the Media Team, and the Education Team.
- Media works to produce original content and promote and celebrate LUNAs work via our blog and social media.
- Education works to develop workshops and resources on a range of topics.
On a practical note, we have general meetings (week A) and working group meetings (week B) every fortnight via Microsoft Teams. The general meetings are a chance to get the whole team together to check in with each other and catch up on the work of working group’s and project groups.
Between meetings we communicate using a Slack workspace to keep everyone in the loop and support flexible involvement. One a year we have our Annual General Meeting which anyone is welcome to attend.
