There are several ways you can volunteer with LUNA and get involved in contributing to the project. We have listed the main ways below. However, if you have any other ideas for ways in which you’d be keen to be involved, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Join the Team
We have several working groups which meet weekly online. Meetings are where we chat about the running of the projects, including workshop delivery, developing resources and running the social media and blogs. These are really flexible (so if you can’t make meetings every week, that’s not a problem!) and are open to any young people between 15-30.
Write a Blog Post
We regularly post blog posts on a whole range of topics, sometimes we have themed months e.g. independence, bodies, and Pride month. From time to time, we have paid opportunities for writing. If you have an idea of ANYTHING related to disability and chronic illness you would be interested in writing about, we’d love to hear from you! You don’t need to have any prior experience writing; just need to be between 15-30.
Collaborate with us on a Bite Size Resource
We create ‘bitesize resources’ for our social media, which are short infographics about different topics. Previously, we have collaborated with organisations such as Guide Dogs Scotland, Beat, university societies such as Glasgow Psychology Society and Glasgow LGBT Medics Society and individuals wanting to share a specific experience.
Keep an eye out for Project call-outs
We tend to do social media call-outs for short-term projects, like From Me and My Friends Resources and Takeover Tuesdays; these opportunities can be quite sporadic but are a great way to get involved without joining the working groups!
